What It's Like

Let me set the scene.

I am:
Four hours from home the week of Thanksgiving

My transportation:
A Daewoo Nubira 2003 (gold)

My needs:
-At least two diet Cokes or Coke Zeros
-One bottle of water
-Sunglasses
-Directions written on paper, even though I've driven the route some 900 times
-An extensive selection of music, both via iPod and compact disc (CD)
-Book-on-tape (actually on iPod)
-iTrip

With all of these things, I was ensured to have an easy four-hour drive back to mi casa.

My problems:
-My CD player refused to eject the CD inside. Incidentally, the CD inside was Kanye West and would only play track 1.
-My iPod was not charged despite all accounts of charging it.
-I could either listen to the radio (and die) or listen to Kanye on repeat (and die).

Solution:
-I chose the radio.

The irony:
-One of only three songs on the radio these days is "Golddigger" by Kanye West. I probably heard it 30 times.

So that's what it's like to drive home four hours to Cleveland with no tunes. Luckily, I have mastered all the lyrics to "Golddigger." Perhaps this can be my token party trick.

PS: Happy Birthday Rach B.
